GBYMIUY magnetic stick-figure toys recall (1 Oct 2026): ~10,750 sets

On October 1, 2026, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that GBYMIUY is recalling about 10,750 Magnetic Stick Figure Toy Sets because the figures can liberate loose high-powered magnets. ShopperCove did not examine any of these toys. Everything below comes from the CPSC recall notice (recall number 27-008), read on 5 October 2026.

The recall at a glance

From the CPSC notice:

  • Product: GBYMIUY Magnetic Stick Figure Toy Sets — packs of 30 multi-colored transparent and opaque human-shaped figures. Each figure is about 2.91 inches tall by 2.3 inches wide. Magnets sit in the hand and foot locations. Packaging is printed with “GBYMIUY” and “X004TVHD2Z”.
  • Hazard: the sets violate the mandatory standard for toys because they can liberate loose high-powered magnets, posing an ingestion hazard to children. When high-powered magnets are swallowed, they can attract each other or other metal objects and become lodged in the digestive system. That can result in perforations, twisting and/or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning, and death.
  • Units: about 10,750.
  • Remedy: full refund.
  • Sold: on Amazon.com from April 2026 through July 2026 for about $20.
  • Incidents: no injuries reported.
  • Importer: Ningbo Jiboyou Trading Co., Ltd. dba GBYMIUY, of China. Made in China.
  • Recall number: 27-008.

CPSC’s notice does not list a specific age range (for example “ages 3+”) for this set. The hazard language refers to risks to children. Treat any of these stick figures in a home with young children as recalled, not as safe play.

What to do if you have a set

CPSC’s instructions:

  1. Take the stick figures away from children immediately.
  2. Stop using them.
  3. Throw the stick figure toys away.
  4. Email a photo of the disposed toys to zhangfa0426@outlook.com for a full refund.

How to reach GBYMIUY, as listed by CPSC:

  • Email: zhangfa0426@outlook.com

Keep a copy of the disposal photo and any Amazon order confirmation if you still have one. The CPSC notice does not say whether a receipt is required.

Why loose high-powered magnets are a problem

CPSC’s point is not that every magnetic toy is unsafe. It is that high-powered magnets that come free from the toy create a severe risk if a child swallows more than one (or a magnet plus metal): magnets can clamp together across intestinal walls, causing perforation, twisting, blockage, blood poisoning, and in severe cases death. This article is not medical advice. If a child may have swallowed a magnet, contact a doctor or poison control right away and mention magnets—do not wait for symptoms.

Do not resell recalled toys. Federal law prohibits selling products subject to a Commission-ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken with CPSC.

Quick checklist

  • Find every GBYMIUY stick-figure pack marked X004TVHD2Z (30-figure Amazon set, about $20).
  • Take them away from children and stop using them.
  • Dispose of them and email a photo to zhangfa0426@outlook.com for a refund.
  • Do not sell or give away a recalled unit.

This article will not update automatically. For the current wording, use the CPSC notice.
