What this site collects

This site does not ask you to create an account, does not collect your name or email address, and does not store any personal data on its servers. There are no comment forms, no login walls, and no newsletter sign-ups.

Analytics

This site uses Umami, an open-source, self-hosted analytics platform, to count page views and understand which posts readers find useful. Umami does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not collect personally identifiable information. The data stays on the site's own server and is not shared with advertising networks or data brokers.

Analytics are only active when the operator has configured them. If you use a content blocker that targets analytics scripts, Umami will be blocked — nothing on the site breaks as a result.

Theme preference

When you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) under the key public-theme. This value never leaves your device and is not transmitted to the server. Clearing your browser's local storage removes it.

Affiliate links

Some posts contain affiliate links — typically to products or services covered in the article. When you click one of these links and make a purchase, this site may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Posts disclose affiliate links at the top when they are present.

Clicking an affiliate link takes you to a third-party website. Those sites have their own privacy policies and may set cookies to track the referral. This site has no control over what those third parties collect.

Third-party services

Beyond affiliate destinations, the only third-party service embedded in this site is Umami analytics, described above. The RSS feed (/feed.xml) is a static XML file served directly — subscribing to it in your feed reader does not share any data with this site beyond what a normal page request does (your IP address and user-agent, visible in server logs, and retained briefly for operational purposes).
