"Crawled – currently not indexed" means Googlebot fetched the page but Google decided not to add it to the index for now. There is no error to fix; Google says the page may or may not be indexed in the future and you do not need to resubmit it.

Where you see this status

It appears in the Page indexing report in Google Search Console, under pages that are not indexed. The URL Inspection tool shows the same status for a single URL.

Common reasons

Google does not give a per-page reason. In practice the usual causes are thin or duplicate content, weak internal linking, or a site that is new and has not built trust yet.

What you can do

  • Improve the page so it adds something unique compared with other pages on your site and the web.
  • Link to it from relevant, already-indexed pages.
  • Make sure it is in your sitemap and not blocked or canonicalised elsewhere.
  • After a real improvement, use URL Inspection and request indexing.

When to leave it alone

Tag pages, parameter URLs and old thin posts often belong out of the index. Consider consolidating or noindexing them instead.

What I found running this

Facts in this draft were checked on 12 Oct 2026 against the primary sources listed in the body (official docs, release schedules or Google/YouTube help pages). No benchmarks or timings were run, so the post makes no performance or measurement claims; dates are quoted as published by the maintainers, and any estimate is labelled as such.
