Ubuntu 24.04 LTS reaches the end of standard security maintenance in May 2029, according to Canonical's official release cycle page. With Ubuntu Pro, Expanded Security Maintenance continues until May 2034, and the Legacy add-on extends coverage to May 2039.
Without Ubuntu Pro, the main archive stops getting security updates. Ubuntu Pro is free for personal use on a small number of machines.
Ubuntu 26.04 LTS was released in April 2026. Plan to test and move LTS-to-LTS well before 2029.
