The official support dates for Django's current long-term support release.
Aditya Challa1 min read
Django 5.2 LTS receives extended security support until April 2028, according to the Django project's official download page. Its mainstream support ended in December 2025, so it now gets security fixes and data-loss bug fixes only.
Every third feature release is a long-term support release with about three years of security fixes. Non-LTS releases such as 6.0 get roughly 16 months of support.
Django 6.0 is supported until April 2027. The next LTS should be 6.2, expected in 2027 (an estimate based on Django's release cadence). Many teams will move from 5.2 LTS directly to 6.2 LTS.
