Three ways to add captions in YouTube Studio, per YouTube Help.
Aditya Challa1 min read
Add subtitles in YouTube Studio by opening the video's Subtitles page, choosing a language, and then uploading a caption file, typing captions manually, or pasting a transcript to auto-sync. YouTube also creates automatic captions for many videos, which you can review and edit.
YouTube accepts common caption formats such as .srt and .vtt. See YouTube Help for the full supported list.
Captions make videos accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers and to anyone watching with the sound off.
