How to add collaborators on YouTube: in YouTube Studio on a computer, start an upload, and in the Details section under Audience click Show more. Then, under Collaboration, click Invite a collaborator. You can invite up to 10 creators to one video or Short, and each channel shows with its own subscribe button once they accept.

What is the YouTube collaborations feature?

YouTube Help describes Collaborations as a way to invite up to 10 creators to be added as collaborators on your video. Viewers can see collaborations on desktop, mobile and TV. Each collaborator's channel name and a subscribe button for that channel are shown, but only after the collaborator accepts your invitation.

How do you invite a collaborator on a computer?

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. In the top right, click Create, then Upload videos.
  3. Select your file, or drag and drop it.
  4. In the Details section, under Audience, click Show more.
  5. Under Collaboration, click Invite a collaborator.

How do you invite a collaborator in the YouTube Studio app?

On Android, YouTube Help lists these steps:

  1. Open the YouTube Studio app.
  2. At the top, tap Create.
  3. Select the file you want to upload.
  4. In the Add details section, tap Collaborations, Comments & more.
  5. Tap Invite a collaborator.

Which videos can have collaborators?

According to YouTube Help:

  • long-form videos: yes
  • Shorts: yes
  • archived live streams: yes
  • active live streams: no

So if you plan a joint live stream, add your partners to the archive after the stream ends.

Do collaborators share views or revenue?

No revenue is shared. YouTube Help says the channel where the collaboration video was posted receives the earned revenue, and revenue is not split between collaborators. If you and a partner agree to share earnings, that has to be arranged between you, outside YouTube's feature.

Will a collab video reach the other creator's audience?

That is the point of the feature. YouTube says its goal is to recommend the video to the audiences of both the collaborators and the channel where it was posted. It also warns that you may not notice changes in search or recommendations at first, so judge a collab over weeks rather than the first day.

Is a collaborator the same as tagging a brand partner?

No. Sponsored videos use a different setting. YouTube Help says that when a video contains branded content, you select paid promotion and then select your brand partner's channel. That links the video to the brand's Google Ads account so they can review its performance. If the brand runs your video as an ad, it shows both names with a subscribe button for each channel.

FAQ

How many collaborators can I add to one YouTube video? Up to 10, according to the current YouTube Help page.

Can I add collaborators to a live stream? Not while it is live. You can add them to the archived stream afterwards.

Does a collaborator appear before they accept? No. YouTube Help says a collaborator's name and subscribe button show once they accept your invitation.

Lab evidence

What I found running this

Checked on 22 Oct 2026 against YouTube Help's 'Invite collaborators to your video' page in its Computer and Android versions. Steps, limits, eligibility and revenue rules are quoted as published there. No fresh hands-on test was run in a YouTube Studio account for this post, so we do not describe the invite-acceptance screen, and menu labels may differ slightly by device or rollout.
